Hey guys,
Welcome back to the new year.
What have you been up to? Recently I have been trying out new skills. I’m currently looking into Amazon FBA. This entrepreneurship desire keeps coming back again because I have this curiosity and eagerness to try and flip something.
Nas.
“Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow. It only saps today of its joy.”
On to these week 5 thoughts and ideas! Let’s go!
ChatGPT is now your buddy.
ChatGPT makes me rethink about mental health, I even decided to name the bot, AI, short for artificial intelligence.
I have been using ChatGPT to answer my burning questions, asking for advice on how to run a newsletter and start Amazon FBA, and even writing a template for a planner.
It however goes beyond that. It’s capable of having a conversation with you about anything and sometimes that’s all we need.
What I love about it most is that continues your conversation and you can ask related questions upon your first question. For example, I asked AI about a situation where I felt sad about something that my son did. It first acknowledged my feelings. It then prompts me if I ask him why he did such things. AI then responded with the rationale and then gave me advice on how I can deal with things from then onwards.
It’s not a mental health professional, but it takes the role of a neutral buddy who tries as humanly possible to have a conversation with you and help to discover more about yourself. It might not help solve everything, just like any human being and it might get stuff wrong.
Sometimes, what we need is someone to talk to without all the drama and emotions, ChatGPT or AI can help you figure stuff out together, be there for you at any time, and at least answer your worries before you ask others for help
This could be an alternative to mental health apps.
Here’s some other ways you can use ChatGPT from Barsee.
He gave more than he took
Gary Vee inspired me in many ways to take up entrepreneurship. I remembered sitting in a cubicle at my security post, wondering what should I do with my life. I remembered, engrossed in watching his video that I didn’t watch where I was going fell into a drain, and left a permanent scar on my leg. He pulled me out of that seat, to decide to do something different.
In this emotional interview with DOAC, he opens up about his fortunate upbringing, values, and how his family upbringing has been the factor amounting to his success, tributing his mother.
How has your family contributed to your upbringing and if not positive, what can you do to change it?
Take a walk, man. Just do it.
Taking walks is one of the things I enjoy doing with my wife. It’s not just a form of a healthy activity but also a mental, and spiritual one. It’s also about bonding. It also let us experience courage.
Sometimes we find obstacles like rain, and mud, situations where we might get lost, and tracks that are closed and we needed to take alternate routes. How do we overcome that? Together. At the end of our walk, after we’ve winded down with some late lunch covered in mud and wet socks. I ask her, “Hey, did you notice we walked more than what we intended?” “I couldn’t believe we manage to walk through that weather”.
This kind of activity really strengthens our relationship. We’ve gone through harder things before, this is nothing.
Linkedin can bring you off track by confusing you about what is genuine.
Have you seen an increase in Linkedin posts about people constantly sharing their accolades and certifications, or meeting someone big and boasting about it together in a picture?
This has become the new shiny object syndrome and it can detrimental to your progress.
We lack the ability to internalize our own value of success as we seek validation from others to acknowledge we’re connecting with someone important. What’s the point of having a picture of you in a restaurant with someone great, if you have not applied anything useful from either?
It is not just about the people we meet, or the certifications we get but about building meaningful connections in a genuine way and sharing valuable insights for the community and the platform.
Maybe if we stop our need to post accolades, and stop being self-promotional, we can focus more on ourselves and getting real value and work done. Let’s be honest and tell the truth.
Make time for relaxation and stress management
The other day, I signed up for an Amazon US account only to realize there were a lot of barriers. Some of them were left unanswered and it stressed me out that I cried to sleep.
In my mind, thoughts about setting this up keep reappearing. It seemed almost impossible. Stepping out of what you’re doing is a sure way to manage all that conflicting ideas. Doing other things that don’t really add anything to your current project might save you.
I switched to my coding lessons, then focused on other things by talking to my wife about it. We break down about how things like this aren’t easy and it takes a few days. Also, sleep is so important these days. Lack of sleep makes it hard to think clearly.
I woke up the next day and figured out an alternative.
I’m not really a fan of meditation or yoga. So, I mean, I’d rather just distract myself by thinking of other things that relax me.. like this beach sound right here. Gosh, I want to go to the beach.
That’s about it for this week's issue!
I’m still posting on the Substack chat every week to keep up to the base with everyone. It’s the most direct way to discuss and chat with me and other like-minded people same as you.
If you somehow manage to get to the bottom of this page, thank you so much. I enjoyed writing this newsletter as much as you enjoyed reading it.
